Can you tell us a bit about you?

Well where to start… I’m a English girl with a gypsy heart. I have been moving around since I was a little girl with my family. So you could say, I got the bug from an early age. I spent most of my teen year in a country village in the North West of the Country (UK). By the time I was 16 years old I got that feeling of wanting to explore. Fortunately for me I was scouted at an early age with a modeling agency. I was scared out of my mind, but there was no way I was going to ignore that feeling. So I moved to London! And ever since I have lived and traveled through my work and, passion as a model. Wherever the wind ( opportunity ) presents itself I would go without much hesitation. I have Lived in Italy, Istanbul, Australia, New York, and now here in LA as of a few days ago... (and Still jet lagged!)

How would you describe yourself?

I am a romantic, and not in the princess saved by the prince kind of way. I like to see the world in a romantic point of view. Romance has ups, and downs but, you always route for the positives and not the negatives in romance. Im a person thats thirsty for knowledge about the world, and everything in and around it. So love to have friends that share the same curiosity about it and love a DMC (deep & meaningful conversation)...

What other career could we imagine for you?

I have always loved acting since I can remember. However I never went a school that was drama focused. So I never thought it was a possibility for me. I think that Is why I found some sort of pull towards modeling. It was a way to portray a character and preform a creative outlet. Then I was given an opportunity to audition for the role of Lex Luther’s body guard in the new DC film. I got it! I couldn’t believe it…we trained for months in the Warner brothers studio. Weapons training and, cross fit everyday without fail. We filmed in Monaco on a super evil genius yacht-it was crazy. When it was over I was overwhelmed with how incredible that experience was, and I knew its where my heart is.

What Music means to you?

Music means a lot to me. If I could live a musical I would! That’s the thing about music it’s so powerful. It can describe emotions you’ve not admitted to yourself or not been able to put into words. It can lift you onto cloud nine and, it can just as easily take you back to your lowest points. It can be attached to fantastic nostalgic memories- ABBA always takes me back to dancing and, singing along with my mum in the car. Instantly puts a five mile smile on my face! Or ‘my sweet lord’ by George Harrison  brings my thoughts to my dad. It’s a huge part of my life.

Favorite project you worked on?

I have been fortunate enough to work with Armani on 6 campaigns. These projects would be some of my favourite memories I’ll cherish forever. They whisk you away to incredible destinations from Sardinia, to the Alps in a lodge where Leonardo Divinnci  would relax and escape from the world. Not only did we travel to incredible places but, the team grew so close. This is where my love for Italy grew. I discovered how the Italians view the world ( romantic)  I think this is why I feel so comfortable there. Dolce and Gabbana is another brand I Love to work with. Domenico Dolce said to me “the word ‘Love’ is thrown around too loosely, but when an Italian says ‘Amore’ it’s something so real and meaningful that’s not taken lightly.”

As a 2024 SI Swimsuit rookie and certified holistic health coach, Penny Lane prioritizes both her physical and mental well-being through a number of wellness practices. From establishing a healthy morning routine to sticking to a diet filled with super foods, Lane is all about maintaining her own well-being while sharing her knowledge with others.

We recently caught up with the Cheshire, England, native to learn about her regular exercise routine and how she focuses on her physical health. Here’s what Lane had to say.

Lane says that she tends to plan her workouts around her menstrual cycle in order to get the most out of them while also listening to what her body needs at any given moment. When she’s on her period, she tends to do yoga and Pilates, while she saves weight training and cardio exercises for the phases of her cycle in which she has more energy.

“That’s super important to me, because I think it’s all part of the mental health side of [exercise],” she explains. “You know, if you want to keep on top of having a busy lifestyle, I think it’s super important to be in tune with your body.”

Through trial and error, Lane has found which workouts work best for her based on her cycle. She suggests trying exercises like walking, hiking or stretching during your luteal phase to go easy on your body, while saving weight training for when you’re “feeling like your best self.”

Lane is a huge proponent of working with a personal trainer in order to reach her fitness-related goals. She has found success (and achieved what she calls her “best body”) working with Stephen Cheuk, founder of New York City’s S10 Training.

“I want to look forward to [my workouts], and with S10, it’s somewhere that’s a community. You go there and you make friends and you also get the most amazing, impeccable training as well, and they’ll listen to exactly what you want,” Lane says. She adds that recovery is a huge component of the facility’s offerings, from infrared saunas to steam rooms. “They look after not only getting your best body, but also looking after the recovery side, which I think is crucial,” she notes.

Lane, who has been friends with Cheuk for about eight years, says her trainer is “amazing at what he does.”

Though she often travels for work and is far more flexible with her personal training schedule today than she used to be, Lane’s ideal week consists of four to five days of workouts. She incorporates weight training three times per week maximum in order to allow her body to rest and recover.

“I used to be really rigid,” she says of her former mindset regarding exercise. “[Now] I’m actually more of the mindset of, obviously I’d love to train every day and that could be anything from weight training to just going for a nice walk. I really try and look at it that way now. I think it’s a healthier mindset to have and not to give yourself a hard time if you can’t do it.”

As for rest days, Lane recommends getting enough sleep and trying out an ice bath or infrared sauna in addition to rolling out any sore muscles. She also notes that nutrition is a huge component of a proper fitness routine, as is looking after your immunity.

For those who are looking to create healthy habits but are perhaps intimidated by the gym, Lane says that even she’s been there before, and we all have to start somewhere. She suggests working with a personal trainer to get over those initial jitters.

“Invest in a trainer to begin with,” Lane says. “Get them to walk you around the gym so you’re familiar with it [and understand] how to use the equipment. I think that’s a really nice way to introduce yourself, do something for yourself, and then start to give yourself some knowledge as well. That can give you a lot of confidence in a new space that you’ve not been in.”

Your worst nightmare? Most beautiful dream?

Worst nightmare would have to be my reoccurring dream as a little girl. It was like jack and the bean stalk. Except I was Jack, and I had a  psychotic giant trying to squash me.  I would always make it to the side table and he would go to grab me and I would wake up. The most beautiful dream I had was in a setting similar to Alice in wonderland. Every time I turned a corner I would meet different character in another beautiful setting. I associated each character with people in my life at the time. It felt magical, and meaningful at every meeting. It was like my conscious was telling me who have been there for me through my path. It was bizarre but,  beautiful.

Biden or Trump?
